On the air for only one season, this series dramatized many stories taken directly from the movies. Original film stars were used whenever possible. Each story that was broadcast, or the stars heard, had been nominated or had won an academy award. Heard over the CBS network on Saturdays beginning on March 30, 1946. The program changed to Wednesday broadcasts with the 15th program on July 3, 1946 it continued until the thirty ninth and last broadcast on December 18, 1946. The series was sponsored by a drug manufacturing company, The House of Squibb. Scripts were written by Frank Wilson and the music was composed by Leith Stevens.
