One of the best remembered musical openings, opened Dragnet. Here is police drama at its best. Starring Jack Webb, this series came as close as possible to real police action. Heard over NBC, 318 original broadcasts were heard between 06/03/49 and 09/20/55. Several years worth of repeats were heard from 09/27/55 until 02/26/57. The series had two sponsorships, first with Fatima Cigarettes and later with Chesterfield Cigarettes.
